Our Extraction Process
The reishi mushroom from Holy Flavours grows on a plantation located in Qingyuan Province. Besides being known as the China's "mushroom city," it is also recognized as the best ecological environment in the country. Hen supplier has led exports to Europe and the US for over 15 years, and is a technological leader in mushroom cultivation. Temperature, humidity, carbon dioxide, light intensity, and nutrients are closely recorded to maintain optimal growth conditions.
The reishi mushrooms are grown on wood using the bark of the basswood tree. The wood is cut into 30cm sections, which are sterilized using hot steam. The pieces of wood are placed in plastic bags and the reishi mushroom spores are placed on the wooden substrate under sterile conditions. When grown in the right growing conditions (considering the heat and moisture), the spores grow and spread on the nutritious basswood wood. The reishi spores are grown in this manner for four months and then moved to a growing base where temperatures are maintained around 25°C. The reishi is buried just below the soil surface and grows into mature mushrooms over the next three months. Between August and October each year, these mature mushrooms are harvested.
